China environment film wins German film prize

A Chinese movie looking at the country's environmental problems has won the prize for best film at the Berlin Film Festival.

”Tuya’s Marriage”, directed by Wang Quan’an, has won the prestigious Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival.

The film is about a family of herders whose livelihood is threatened by the desertification of the Mongolian steppe, and documents the environmental and human cost of China’s rapid development.
