The report, entitled "Green Jobs: Towards Decent Work in a Sustainable, Low-Carbon World," predicts that 12 million new jobs would be created by 2030 in biofuel-related agriculture and industry. The manufacture, installation, and maintenance of solar panels could add 6.3 million jobs, it said. Wind power development is projected to contribute more than 2 million jobs.

The report was written before the US credit crisis, which experts worry has the potential to slow the growth of alternative energy.
