Cheney’s office intervened to stop the release of "any discussion of the human health consequences of climate change" from a testimony last October by a US disease control official, said Jason Burnett, a former employee of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The testimony was cut from 14 to six pages, he said in a letter.
A spokeswoman for Bush said the deletions were made to reflect scientific uncertainty on the issue, but Burnett said the deletions were ordered to help the EPA deny that climate change endangers public health in response to a supreme court ruling.
