Drinks giant denounces Three Gorges report

China's largest beverage company has written an open letter criticising a report in Caijing magazine about its expansion in the Three Gorges region. Caijing alleges employees of a Wahaha factory in Fuling were coerced into signing the letter.

The article in Caijing discussed Wahaha’s participation in a public-private partnership to relocate, house and employ at least 1,300 people displaced by the Three Gorges dam project. The report claimed relocation funds were misused.

Caijing quoted an unnamed factory worker as saying: "The company said that if we do not sign, we will be fired."
