China discovers “new” glaciers

China has discovered a group of 42 glaciers on the the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, China Daily said on Tuesday.

China has become increasingly concerned about global warming as studies show glaciers retreating on the plateau, where Asia’s largest rivers originate.

The group of glaciers, which may be the biggest ever found, were found in Bomi County which has an average altitude of 4,200 metres above sea level, the China Daily reported.
