The fifth IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition, sponsored by China's Ministry of Construction and the International Water Association (IWA), will be held in Beijing from 10-14 September. It is the first time that China will host the most influential water conference in the world.
Topics for discussion will include water security, sustainable development of water resources, global water management, and achieving harmony between humans and aquatic environments, said Wang Tiehong, secretary of the organising committee of the congress and chief engineer at the Chinese Ministry of Construction on Tuesday.
Over 3,500 people, including experts, politicians and water companies, are expected to participate in the five day congress and exhibition.
