Australia to aid China’s solar city plan

Australia will help develop what could be the world's largest solar city in Weihai, northeast China, the Sydney Morning Herald reported on Friday.

Prime minister Kevin Rudd said there would also be a new ministerial level dialogue between the two countries that will provide high-level oversight to clean energy technologies, climate change science, adaptation and building the capacity of China to respond to climate change.

Australia will also fund the trial of a system to monitor the health of three Chinese rivers: the Yellow River, Pearl River and Da Ling.
